Project overview

Context submitted a design concept and masterplan for the proposed Rutland Street Church. The client’s brief was for a campus rebuild to create a welcoming and inclusive complex that provides a place of sanctuary for the community to come to reflect, learn and interact.

Context produced a building function matrix to consider the adjacencies of the required spaces and reflect on how the communities’ wish list could be reconciled. The test fit masterplan helped the prospective client see how various differing desires among user groups could be reconciled within the budget.

Context’s concept considered how an elegant new wing could be slotted between the existing buildings to provide a grand but welcoming entrance that provide a beautiful sense of arrival, and multi-functional spaces including café seating, library space, additional auditorium seating, event space and storage.
